Patriots 38, Jets 14 September 9, 2007

Despite a couple of plays on defense where it looked like Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison might have made a difference, the Patsies were certainly firing on every cylinder today. Ellis Hobbs’ record 108 yard kickoff return did the psychological work (the cutaway to the look on Mangini’s face said it all), and the fourth 60+ yard drive, eating up 10 minutes of clock in the 4th quarter, did the rest.

Tom Brady to Randy Moss… touchdown! Get used to it!

Five touchdowns scored by five different players… get used to that, too. Nothing like depth.

The Jets are a good team and will most likely be a strong wild card contender, finishing second in the division. But the Pats are better.

Next Sunday night – the home opener against San Diego. I’ll have to watch it while at my bowling league, which means I probably won’t be paying too much attention to rolling that rock
