Two home runs in the same inning for A-Rod tonight, in a win the Yanks needed to gain more of a lead in the wildcard race with Seattle… no Yankee has hit 2 home runs in the same inning since Cliff Johnson did it back in 1977…
Probably after eating some of these for super powered energy!
Putting aside all my usual worry & paranoia as to the Yankees hobbling into the post-season with pitching that seems shakier by the day, watching Rodriguez pound the ball all year makes me think I’m spending quality baseball time watching the guy who will shatter Bonds’ tainted record by the time he’s finished.
I wouldn’t mind him going after Reggie Jackson’s 1977 World Series performance this year either, but that remains to be seen. The Red Sox and the Angels are looking a little too good these days. Sigh.
